How to Choose a Pickup Truck Rental

If you find yourself in a position where a pickup truck would be helpful, a rental is a great way to get your project or plans moving forward! While you may consider borrowing from a friend or neighbor, sometimes it is just easier to have the pickup truck rental at your disposal and ready to go when you need it. Depending on your project or needs, a specific rental truck may work best. Here are questions to consider when you are contemplating a pickup truck rental.

1. What are you using it for? Obviously, you need to get something somewhere, but how big is it? How heavy is it? What shape is it? Can it be covered in the bed of a truck safely? Our team at Marcus Allard Truck Rental can go over the options, but we have a range of pickup trucks that will fit any scenario. Our fleet includes F-150 pickup trucks, F-250 pickup trucks and 4×4 pickup trucks. A F-150 truck can handle towing up to 10,000 pounds and has approximately 5,236 pound payload. We have long and short beds and 2- or 4-wheel drive. While a F-250 can tow up to 12,000 pounds.

2. How many passengers do you have? If your project requires more than just you and a friend, you will need more room in the cab, especially if it is a longer trip, you want to be comfortable. Our offerings include pickup trucks with an extended cab and crew cab. While both can seat up to five people, a crew cab pickup truck has four doors for ease of getting in and out for adults.

3. Who will be driving? As part of our policies here at Marcus Allard, we require our drivers to be at least 21 years old and to have a valid driver’s license. If you have a longer trip, it is always a good idea to have another driver on the policy to serve as a backup if you need a break from behind the wheel.

4. How long do you need your pickup truck rental? Our fleet is available to rent for as little as 24 hours and as long as months. We are happy to work with you depending on what your timeline is and your project needs are. If you have a work project that is expected to last a couple weeks, a pickup truck rental may be the perfect fit.
